Jeremy Clarkson has sparked a fresh attack on the Green Party and its leader, Zack Polanski, over their stance on decriminalising drug use. The 43-year-old politician has been a vocal cheerleader for reforming Britain’s drug laws. Earlier this month, plans for his party to hold a vote on whether it would legalise heroin use emerged to foster a “more inclusive” society.
The party leader even appeared on Laura Kuenssberg’s weekend show a few weeks ago, claiming that a ban on hard drugs had been “racialised”. On the same show, he argued that there should be a “public health approach” towards drug use and that someone who had a “problematic relationship with drugs” should seek support from a medical professional.

The BBC presenter put him on the spot and quizzed him about whether he believed that this stance on drug use was a good message to send to young people.
He replied: “I think the danger is happening right now, which is where we’re pushing it into street corners and a black market.” This comes after Mr Polanski claimed he has never partaken in drug use or even consumed alcohol before.
It’s fair to say his stance on the ongoing drug war has sparked backlash online from a number of his political opponents and public figures, including the former Top Gear host.
In his latest Sunday Times column, the motoring journalist slammed Mr Polanski after he delved into how Gen-Z are increasingly turning their backs on alcohol in favour of marijuana. As a proud owner of The Farmer’s Dog public house, the Grand Tour star has suffered the repercussions of drink and drug use firsthand.

Pondering why the younger generation has decided to leave behind beer in 2026, Clarkson pointed out that the cost plays a major part, adding that £6 per pint is a price many young people will refuse to pay.
He explained: "These kids say they haven't lost the desire to get a bit of a buzz on with their mates; they've simply worked out that weed costs a hell of a lot less than going to the pub - and they have a point." However, with the popularity of marijuana growing comes the accompanying health risks.
He argued: "When I was at school, no one had mental health issues... Today, you're weird if you don't have a mental health issue of some kind." Therefore, the broadcaster was "staggered" to learn that Zack Polanski is pushing for the legalisation of drugs.
The broadcaster fumed: "I'm staggered, really, to hear that Green Party fella with the bad teeth and silly walk saying he wants to legalise it. We should do the exact opposite.

"We should do everything in our power to dissuade people from smoking it, and we should start by removing all taxes on pubs and breweries so that the healthy, friendly alternative that they offer becomes more attractive than ingesting a foulness that makes you violent and boring."
This isn't the first time Clarkson has publicly slammed the Green Party leader. Back in November, he branded Polanski a "snaggle-toothed vegan" for his party's tax policies. And in October, the Clarkson's Farm star admitted he was "amused" by Polanski and his "pink-haired fans" due to their alleged misconception of British billionaires.
