Hollywood actress Lory Patrick has tragically died aged 92. The star was best known for her roles in Surf Party, Tales Of Wells Fargo, Bonanza and Wagon Train. It was revealed that the mum-of-three, whose real name is Lory Basham Jones, died "peacefully" on January 26 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, as shared by her family on Thursday (January 12). Lory was the widow of Dean Jones, the beloved Disney star known for his roles in That Darn Cat!, The Love Bug and The Shaggy D.A. The couple were married for 42 years until Dean died from Parkinson's disease in September 2015, aged 84.
The late actress also had roles in The Many Loves Of Dobie Willis, The Adventures Of Ozzie And Harriet, Alcoa Presents With Fred Astaire and Dr Kildare. Her first husband was late science-fiction writer Harlan Ellison; they were married and divorced in 1966, and she was the third of his five wives. Following Dean's death, Lory moved from Tarzana, California, to Gettysburg to be closer to family.
Although she enjoyed a prolific television career, featuring in more than 70 series, Lory eventually stepped away from acting in the late 1960s.
The beauty was born in West Virginia, moved to Detroit, and settled in New York City, but it was during her time in Manhattan that her good looks and slender frame landed her modelling jobs and starring roles in TV adverts.
At the time, Lory secured a contract with Universal Studios and was cast as schoolteacher Tina Swenson in NBC's Tales of Wells Fargo, appearing in 15 episodes during the western's sixth and final season alongside Dale Robertson.
The actress also starred in The Loretta Young Show, a 1950s drama anthology series hosted by actress Loretta Young, where she introduced important moral lessons through dramas. The host was best known for the films The Farmer's Daughter and The Bishop's Wife.
