Piers Morgan has taken a savage swipe at Sir Jim Ratcliffe following his explosive migrant rant. The co-owner of Manchester United claimed Britain has been “colonised” by immigrants, who are draining resources from the state. Now, the Uncensored host has hit back at his explosive rant, branding him a “stinking race-baiting hypocrite.”

Taking to X – formerly known as Twitter – he fumed: “Aside from his blatant lies/ ignorance about UK population numbers, Ratcliffe is an immigrant tax exile in Monaco, and most of his Manchester United team are immigrants to the UK. So he’s a stinking race-baiting hypocrite.”

It didn’t take long before fans flocked to the comments to share their fury at the businessman’s comments online. One user penned: “Can’t believe the audacity! Sir Jim Ratcliffe criticises immigration in the UK, yet he’s a tax exile living in Monaco, and his Manchester United team is full of immigrant players. Talk about hypocrisy!”

Another agreed: “Piers calls out Ratcliffe as a hypocrite, criticising immigration in the UK while being an immigrant himself and owning a team full of foreign players.” A third fumed: “Ratcliffe living in Monaco to dodge taxes while complaining about immigrants is peak hypocrisy. United’s squad is full of foreign players who made the club what it is. Man’s a hypocrite, but fortunately, he owns the club now.”

Meanwhile, others argued that the presenter had missed the point of Ratcliffe’s argument, with one user stating: “Piers, are his players on benefits living off hard-working taxpayers or are they contributing their fair share (huge one) to the tax net?”

Another agreed: “Missed the point there, Piers, and you know it. Man Utd foreign players are coming here because they have a job lined up. They are not a drain on the welfare state. More millionaires have fled the country under Labour than any other Govt. We don’t want to pay taxes to a welfare state, particularly those who’ve come here off a dinghy illegally.”

It comes after Ratcliffe made an appearance on Sky News where the part-owner of the football club opened up on why he believes Britain faces profound political, social and economic challenges.

Ratcliffe, who owns the INEOS chemicals group, also accused Prime Minister Keir Starmer of being “too nice”. While he also opened up on a recent meeting he had with Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.

And in a warning to the country, Ratcliffe said: “You can’t have an economy with nine million people on benefits and huge levels of immigrants coming in. I mean, the UK has been colonised. It’s costing too much money. The UK has been colonised by immigrants, really, hasn’t it?”

Inaccurately, the billionaire claimed: “I mean, the population of the UK was 58 million in 2020, now its 70 million. That’s 12 million people.” The Office of National Statistics (ONS) estimates that the population of the UK was 67 million in mid-2020 and 70 million in mid-2024, while the UK population was estimated at 58.9 million in 2000.
