Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's "best pal" Mogens Tholstrup is currently in intensive care in South Africa after a horrifying plane crash, it has been revealed. The 64-year-old is known for resurrecting Daphne's, South Kensington, with a party for 350, fuelled by champagne and fizzing with blondes.
Mogens daughter from his marriage to Scandi model Paola Schlansen, Christy, was yesterday urgently trying to get to his bedside. Talking to friends on social media, she said: "If I don't answer you, it's because I'm organising a trip to South Africa". Christy added that her father had "survived a plane crash" and had been taken to intensive care.
Speaking of his friendship with Andrew, the Daily Mail reported in 2000: "The two go nightclubbing together and partied at the royal birthday bash at Windsor last month".
The news is likely to be a further blow for Andrew, who is now living in Norfolk, following his appearance in the latest string of Epstein files.
It has been reported that Andrew left Royal Lodge in the dead of the night on February 2, with the royal then having been driven 132 miles to Norfolk from Windsor.
The decision to go during darkness was to avoid being seen, with Andrew spending yesterday at Wood Farm Cottage where he will stay temporarily.
The disgraced royal is then set to move permanently into Marsh Farm at the start of April.
The US Department of Justice released a number of new documents and images last month as part of the Epstein files, some of which mention Andrew.
