A huge fire has erupted in a tiny Welsh village, with the fire service advising locals to avoid the area, as well as keep their windows and doors closed. South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said it is in attendance at Commercial Street in Pontllanfraith.
Pictures from the scene show large flames rising from the top of a building, with thick smoke. The fire service said in a statement: "Due to the large number of appliances and emergency vehicles in attendance, we are asking members of the public to please avoid the area where possible. This will help ensure the crew can work safely and allow emergency access routes to remain clear. We advise residents in the local area to keep windows and doors closed due to a large amount of smoke in the area."
