Michelle McManus received an outpouring of admiration from supporters after showcasing her remarkable weight loss journey in a two-piece bikini. The 45 year old vocalist rose to prominence after winning the televised singing contest Pop Idol in 2003. Since her victory, she has maintained a thriving career and currently hosts her afternoon programme on BBC Radio Scotland.
The mother-of-two has also completed an impressive weight loss transformation in recent years, shedding nine stone. In candid photos shared on her Instagram last year, the singer and presenter beamed in a colourful two piece as she posed beside a sun-drenched swimming pool.
She wore a bright yellow cover-up over her swimwear and stood with her hands on her hips as the sun shone on her orange hair.
“So much fun in the sun,” wrote Michelle. Her 26,500 followers flocked to comment on the post, as one said: "Looking good Michelle."

Michelle previously revealed her weight loss was down to a 17-month lifestyle change.
She told fans: “Before this change of lifestyle, I was stuck in a cycle, endlessly searching for that elusive magic diet wand, believing it was out there, waiting to instantly turn me into the best version of myself.
“I’d daydream about finding it, waving my wand, and bingo, becoming the person I always thought I needed to be to find happiness.
“But here’s the truth, that magic wand doesn’t exist. What I’ve discovered instead is something even more powerful, the right support.”
This week, Michelle displayed the fruits of her dedication in a figure-flattering blue dress. Sharing a photograph on her Instagram account, Michelle appeared at BBC Studios in Scotland whilst presenting her programme The Entertainment Mix.
Looking spectacular, she wore a knitted shirt dress, embellished with diamanté accents including a belt that accentuated Michelle's silhouette. The fashionable outfit also featured a collar and she complemented the dress with black hosiery and flat footwear.
Striking a pose for the photograph, Michelle styled her distinctive red hair in voluminous waves and chose a complete makeup look, featuring dramatic lashes and a touch of pink lipstick.
