Two lanes on the M62 have been closed eastbound between J11 for Birchwood and J12 for Eccles Interchange after widespread flooding.

Days of heavy rain have played havoc in the North West causing the ground near the motorway to become saturated leading to water to spill across the carriageway.

The lanes have been closed since around 3am this morning with no news of when it will reopen.
