Bomb disposal unit officers were dispatched to a UK town on Friday afternoon amid fears a dangerous item had been discovered. Greater Manchester Police and other emergency services were called to Granada Road in the Dane Bank area of Denton, Tameside, on February 6, with police officers dealing with "a suspected hand grenade".
A police cordon was put in place near Granada Park on the estate between Gorton Road and Windsor Road, the MEN reports. Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers are dealing with a suspected hand grenade after being called to Granada Road in Denton at 12.30pm today (6/2/26). There is a cordon in place and some residents have been asked to leave their properties while the EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) assesses the situation. We thank everyone for their patience while we deal with the incident."
