Donald Trump has been accused of "sexism" after he had a furious row with a reporter at the White House on Tuesday. The President clashed with CNN's Kaitlan Collins during a White House event as she asked about about survivors of Jeffrey’s Epstein’s abuse.

Frustrated by her persistence in asking questions about Epstein Trump accussed of her "not smiling enough "during an Oval Office exchange. The exchange opened with Ms Collins noting that Trump’s effort to portray the latest Epstein disclosures as damaging only to Democrats was undercut by the files’ revelation that Epstein also had close ties to two of Trump’s allies, Elon Musk and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. Trump brushed off the point and said he had not read the friendly emails they exchanged with the late sex offender.

“I’m sure they’re fine, otherwise there would’ve been major headlines,” he said.

When Ms Collins noted that “a lot of women who are survivors of Epstein are unhappy with” the way the justice department redacted the documents, including “entire witness interviews are totally blacked out”, the president attempted to end the discussion by saying: “I think it’s really time for the country to get on to something else, now that nothing came out about me.”

To which Ms Collins questioned: “But what would you say to people who feel they haven’t gotten justice, Mr President?”

What did you say?” an irritated Trump shot back.

“What would you say to people, the survivors who feel that they haven’t gotten justice?” Ms Collins again asked.

Trump then launched into a huge rant. He said: “You know, you are the worst reporter."

"You know, she’s a young woman, CNN has no ratings because of people like you."

Trump said to the Republican lawmakers arrayed around his desk. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you smile,” he said, turning back to Collins.

He continued: "And I've known you for 10 years, I don't think I have ever seen a smile on your face. "You know why you're not smiling? Because you know you know you are not telling the truth.

"And you're a very dishonest organisation and they should be ashamed of you." The angry exhange has gone viral with many questioning why no one in the media room stepped in and stand up for Ms Collins with one user claiming situations similar to this have "been going on forever".

The user then asked: "When will White House media members defend their female colleagues?"
