The Night Manager’s Camila Morrone has bid farewell to the second series with touching social media posts alongside her co-star Tom Hiddleston, marking the 'end of an era'.

The eagerly awaited second series of the BBC thriller, which made its comeback a staggering decade after it was last on screens, reached its dramatic finale last week.

Hollywood star Tom, 44, reprised his role as former British intelligence operative Jonathan Pine and this time joined by Camila, 28, who played Roxana, a businesswoman entangled in the criminal arms-dealing world.

The gripping conclusion received high praise from viewers, who dubbed it the 'cliffhanger of cliffhangers' following the shocking deaths of two major characters.

Looking back on the final series, Camila shared a collection of behind-the-scenes snaps on Instagram, featuring herself alongside co-star Tom beaming at the camera.

The first shot showed Camila sporting a pink suit as she leaned in with a smile next to the Loki star, who crouched down to position his head alongside hers. A second photo captured the duo grinning side by side in a car park, sharing a warm hug before filming.

Other images showed Camila's scripts, covered in written descriptions, filming herself and Tom driving in a luxury car and crying as the season's filming came to an end.

“End of an era. That's it for Night Manager season 2,” she wrote to her followers, who rushed to the comments section to rave about the 'spectacular' programme. Following Friday's finale, viewers immediately took to social media to heap praise on the gripping plot that saw two characters meet their demise.

One viewer raved on X:”'The Night Manager had one of the drama's great finishes. It really was one you'll never forget. The cliffhanger of hangers.”

Another gushed: “More needs to be talked about The Night Manager... it's the best drama that's been on the telly for a long long time! Absolutely brilliant!”

“Now we can talk about how extraordinary an actor Tom Hiddleston is; this season was breathtaking, he always gives Pine a different nuance, this ending was devastating, he's brilliant,”a third declared.

A fourth wrote: “What a terrific season finale. Very few series in their second season are able to match the quality of the first. The game has just started anew. Hugh Laurie has outdone himself as Richard Roper. Absolute cliffhanger of a finale.” Meanwhile, a fifth viewer added: “How sad and how realistic the ending of #TheNightManager. This one... was brutal.”

It comes after Tom Hiddleston revealed what lies ahead for the popular BBC drama. During a recent appearance on This Morning alongside Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard he revealed: “I can reveal that there will be, there's going to be more, but we always constructed this one as the beginning of a 12-episode story.

“It gave us greater scope in terms of imagining where this story might go knowing that we had another season to come - and we like trilogies, there's something satisfying about it.”

He continued: “It will be sooner [than ten years]. It's booked in, and if we had to wait another ten years I'd be 55, and I don't know how much running I will be doing [then].”

The Night Manager is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
