Meghan Markle stunned supporters when she made her debut at Paris Fashion Week on Saturday (October 4).

The 44-year-old attended a Balenciaga showcase in what marked her first-ever appearance at the prestigious event, allegedly showing solidarity with Pierpaolo Piccioli, who has recently taken on the position of Creative Director for the fashion house.

The Duchess opted for a white oversized cape layered over a coordinating button-down shirt.

Meghan completed the monochromatic look with matching white trousers and black pointed-toe heels, whilst styling her hair in a sleek pulled-back bun.

However, whilst numerous admirers praised Meghan's stunning appearance at the occasion, some couldn't resist drawing playful parallels to the outfit on social media.

One individual posted on X: "She forgot to leave the bedsheets at home," whilst another commented: "Straight from the linen closet."

A third remarked: "My bed sheets after a restless night," whilst a fourth observed: "Ugh! it's giving Bed bath and Beyoncé."

Nevertheless, countless other supporters were captivated by her ensemble, with one describing it as "magnificent," whilst another commented: "Meghan is so effortlessly classy, she looks fab!"

A third remarked: "I love her outfit," whilst a fourth concurred: "This outfit is going straight to my WhatsApp mood board."

The Balenciaga ensemble represents a piece from Pierpaolo Piccioli's inaugural collection as Creative Director at the fashion house.

A spokesperson for Meghan told PEOPLE she attended the Balenciaga show in support of Pierpaolo Piccioli, saying: "Over the years, the Duchess has worn a number of designs by Pierpaolo. They have worked closely together.

"She has long admired his craftsmanship and modern elegance, and tonight was no different. This evening reflects the culmination of many years of artistry and friendship, reflected in her support for his new creative chapter at Balenciaga."

Beyond her ensemble, her presence at the show sparked considerable attention due to Balenciaga triggering worldwide fury over its 2022 advertising campaign which featured young children clutching the brand's teddy bear handbags adorned in bondage-style accessories.

The controversy was so severe that Balenciaga rapidly withdrew the campaign, released public apologies, and endured reputational harm for months.
