Princess Beatrice jetted to New York City last week for a high-profile UN event, offering royal fans the ultimate masterclass in autumn dressing. Her polished appearance came in the wake of a difficult week for the family, after a leaked email between Sarah Ferguson and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein led to several charities cutting ties with the Duchess.

Prince Andrew’s eldest daughter was photographed at the Women Rise for All Lunch, part of the annual UN General Assembly, where she joined an impressive line-up of inspiring women from around the world. Beatrice appeared on the Instagram feed of Annemarie Hou, who works for the UN Office for Partnerships, and looked radiant as she posed alongside the group.

“Celebrating women leading the way. The Women Rise for All Lunch is now an annual highlight of #UNGA, celebrating women’s commitment to building a fairer, more peaceful, and more sustainable world,” Hou wrote in the caption.

The King's niece's outfit instantly caught our attention - a checked dress with a vintage-inspired twist that felt strikingly familiar to royal-watchers after Princess Kate wore a similar style earlier this month.

Beatrice chose a heritage-inspired midi dress from one of Kate's go-to labels, Self-Portrait - priced at £320. The piece featured a rich brown-and-cream check pattern, elevated with contrasting black piping and statement gold buttons.

Its structured silhouette and long sleeves lent a seasonal edge - the kind of understated, work-appropriate glamour royal watchers have come to expect from her.

Earlier in September, Kate stepped out in a grey-and-rose checked Alessandra Rich dress during a surprise engagement with Prince William to mark the anniversary of the late Queen’s death.

Both dresses draw on the same timeless plaid motif but showcase it in different ways. Kate’s featured a cooler grey base with puffed sleeves and a nipped-in waist for a demure silhouette.

While Beatrice’s played with warmer autumnal tones and a playful trim, nodding to vintage styles while still feeling modern.

The comparison highlights how Beatrice has been quietly refining her style. Much like Kate, she’s leaning into heritage prints and classic tailoring, but adding her own twist - in this case, earthy colours, statement detailing and a softer fit.

It’s a look that feels perfectly in step with the season and cements her growing reputation as one of the Royal Family’s most interesting dressers.

With each public appearance, she’s proving she can strike the perfect balance between tradition and individuality, creating outfits that are a hit with royal watchers.
