A travel lover claims they have found "the prettiest fishing village in Cornwall." With chocolate box cottages and stunning coastal views, it's easy to see why the village earns such high praise. Cadgwith, Helston, is located on the beautiful Lizard Peninsula.

Visit Cornwall said: "You have to be adventurous to explore the eastern side of the Lizard, a maze of lanes running across Goonhilly to small coastal communities such as Porthallow, Coverack and Cadgwith." The tourist board adds: "Cadgwith itself is one of those Cornish fishing villages famed for its looks.

"The thatched buildings nestled in the little cove have been a focus for photographers and artists for many years. The fishermen still haul their boats up the beach each evening and then retire to the pub for a pint, especially if they have had a good catch."

The views certainly impressed TikTok user @onlythehighlights_, who has dubbed Cadgwith "the most picturesque fishing village in England." Praising the village, the visitor wrote: "The prettiest fishing village in Cornwall to visit with your dog.

"On the Lizard Peninsula, this village and fishing port in Cornwall is small but perfectly picturesque. It’s the stuff of postcards - think chocolate box cottages and windy paths to reach the harbour."

@onlythehighlights_ also shared recommendations for visitors, based on their own charming visit. The blogger wrote: "Stop by the Cadgwith Cove Inn - they have sea shanty nights!!! We unfortunately missed this but plan your trip around this!

"The beach (fishing cove beach) is dog friendly year round but the other side of the beach has restrictions during the summer months. There’s no parking in the village itself, you’ll have to park at the car park (Cadgwith Car Park) and walk down to the village.

"Take a walk to Devil’s Frying Pan - a spectacular coastal feature formed from the collapsed roof of a sea cave (PLEASE keep your dog on a lead). Certain parts not fully accessible."

Replying to the video, one fan said: "Gorgeous place have been there many times over the years," and @onlythehighlights_ replied: "It’s so lovely!!!" Another commenter agreed: "Looks like a gorgeous place," and @onlythehighlights_ added: "Such a fun place to explore!!!"

For those keen to know more before planning a visit, it could be worth checking TripAdvisor reviews for different attractions in the area. For instance, one visitor who reviewed Cadgwith Cove also shared food and parking recommendations.

They wrote: "If you want a typical Cornish fishing village, this is it! Took me back my childhood holidays.. don't even attempt to drive down to the bottom, just park up at the parking site, cheap enough for the day, a nice walk down to the cove between the old cottages, there's gift, ice-cream, fishmongers (we picked up some huge tiger prawns for the BBQ), cafe and restaurant and plenty of history, it's a working fishing village so you'll see boats coming and going, being launched and pulled in up the pebbled beach, there's cliffs and rockpools when the tide is out, and as it's out of the way, it doesn't get too busy but it is well worth a visit."
