Gardeners' World viewers usually tune in to hear Monty Don's soothing voice and see his beloved pooches muck around in his garden on Friday evenings at 8 p.m. However, the green-fingered presenter issued a "devastating" update to fans on his social media, explaining that tonight's highly anticipated episode has been pulled from the BBC's schedule.
Taking to Instagram, the 70-year-old explained: "No Gardeners' World this week (Women's Rugby semi final) and apparently no space to squeeze it into anywhere else in BBC 2's schedule, but here is the scant consolation of the veg garden."
While he couldn't offer his regular BBC 2 viewers the latest instalment of the series, he did share a photograph of his vegetable garden, which has been flourishing following the recent downpours across the UK in recent weeks as the summer draws to a close.
In the photograph of his rather wet yet green vegetable area, corn and other British produce could be seen growing tall. A greenhouse was at the end of the patch, down the bottom of a paved path.
