Sir Rod Stewart appears to be his wife Penny Lancaster's biggest supporter. The model has been writing her autobiography, which details the light and darkness she has experienced in her life. Today, 54-year-old Penny was filmed opening a huge parcel filled with finalised copies of her self-penned book, Someone Like Me. The sweet clip, which saw a glamorous Penny sitting around a table in a crisp white shirt and brown jacket, was uploaded to the former Loose Women star's Instagram and her excitement was palpable.

During the video, Penny opens the box, pulls out a hardback copy of her book, and says: "Finally, it's here." Rod, 80, can be heard in the background saying, "Don't cry," before she holds up a copy, and the Maggie May rocker proudly adds, "Oh, look at that!" Penny smiles with the book as people in the room applaud her and she says, "Oh, it's gorgeous." Then Rod cheekily quips, "A girl from Chigwell, who would have thought?"

When he asks her how she feels, the former presenter replies: "I'm an author!"

Penny's fans flocked to the comments section to praise her for the huge accomplishment. One wrote, "Congratulations, lovely lady." Another said, "Love this. Well done. I'm looking forward to reading this."

A third said: "Well done Penny, cannot wait to read all about your memoirs. Big congratulations, lovely to hear the support of your beloved husband." Someone else remarked: "Congratulations.. and cheered on by hubby."

Within the book, Penny bravely opens up about an attack when she was aged 17, in which she believed she was drugged by a fashion designer.

According to the Daily Mail, the book “starts with her fearing the sound of footsteps” as when she was just five, a man tried to abduct her in his car as she played in her garden.

When Penny was only 12, she was assaulted in an underpass by a man who grabbed her as she walked alone to school.

The star explains in her book how she managed to break free, and unfortunately, the wrong man was arrested by police officers. The publication said these tragic experiences resulted in trauma-sparked hyperhidrosis, which makes Penny's hands and feet drip with sweat when she's anxious.
