The Sopranos star Ernest Wesley Heinz, 48, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder. The actor has been accused of shooting a female driver during a road rage incident. The Port Republic, New Jersey native was taken into custody on Thursday in connection with the shooting, which left Stockton University on lockdown for several hours. According to police the victim, Maritza Arias-Galva, had signalled she intended to merge into the traffic with her indicators on but Heinz’s cut her off with his vehicle. He then allegedly yelled at her, threatened to kill her, and fired a single shot.
The bullet hit her in the upper nose but she remained conscious. She was rushed to a local hospital, where she reported the incident to police telling them a man in a white Hyundai had shot her in the face at a red light. Authorities have said her injuries are non‑life‑threatening and she is currently recovering.
