Billie Shepherd's husband, Greg, was inundated with support after revealing that his beloved father, Dave, had died aged 77. The businessman, who alongside his family stars in ITV’s hit reality series, The Family Diaries, shared the devastating news on Thursday (September 11). Alongside a collection of photos and videos of his father, Greg posted of Dave’s “sudden” death and shared that he “still has so much more to give.”

The heartbroken 40-year-old wrote: “I'm gutted and heartbroken to be writing this, but this time last week, my dad Dave passed away suddenly. He was 77, but still had so much more to give, and that's what makes this so hard.” Greg continued: “From the age of 4, you raised me as your own. You taught me how to be a father, and you made it look simple, you were always present, no matter what. You never missed a birthday, a celebration, or any important moment. You always had time for me and my sisters and grandkids.”

The star shared: “I hope I can be the kind of man you were, Dad, always smiling, always dancing, the most grateful man you could ever meet, and always there for us.

“All my friends had a relationship with you too, the parties in our bar will never be the same without you."

In the moving statement, Greg added: “I can only try to make you proud, and learn how to live with just 36 years of memories, love, and happiness. Until we meet again, our kid… I love you more than you'll ever know.”

Billie also paid tribute to Greg’s father with a touching message, which read: “The best father in law, dad and grandad anyone could ever wish for, love you forever Dave with all my heart, life will never feel the same without you.”

Among the fans sharing their condolences in the comments was Billie’s sister Sam Faires, who penned: “He truly was such a wonderful man.”

As reality star Jess Wright added: “Oh Greg I’m so sorry, sending so much love to you at this hard time xxxxxxxx.”

Many of Greg’s followers also shared their tributes of his father, who had also made multiple appearances on their show, as one added: “This is so sad reading this. After watching u and ur family on tv we all know how much he meant to u. So sorry for u and the family. Sending love

As another echoed: “He raised you so well, all credit to him, seemed a lovely fella on the show. Cherish what you gained and not what you lost.”
