Gwyneth Paltrow is poised to become Hollywood’s next billionaire – by selling her lifestyle brand Goop. Friends claim she is ready to relinquish her online empire that sells a range of products from “wellness” cures to gold-plated adult toys.
A business source close to the 52-year-old Oscar-winning actress confirmed: “She believes it’s time to let go – but only if the price is right. Gwyn will only walk away from the company she founded 17 years ago if she can cash in with the sort of massive deal accomplished by celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Reese Witherspoon.”
The model wife of pop star Justin Bieber sold her beauty brand Rhode for £740million in May. Actress Reese sold her Hello Sunshine TV and film production company for about £670million four years ago. The business source added: “She (Gwyneth) has even asked top brass at her Hollywood agency CAA to help her try to find a buyer with deep pockets.”
The Iron Man star, whose Oscar was for Shakespeare in Love, will star in Marty Supreme, which opens in UK cinemas on Boxing Day. A Goop spokesperson said: “We would not wish to comment on company plans.”
