We know we’ve just bid farewell to August and autumn isn’t even officially here yet, but the start of September - for us beauty writers - often marks the unveiling of beauty advent calendars from some of the most renowned brands, including household name Liz Earle.
While its 24 Days of Liz Earle Advent Calendar has sold out with ‘stock coming soon’, fans of the brand can snag its 12 Days Of Liz Earle Beauty Advent Calendar for £79 - and despite only recently launching, it’s already received a five-star review.
Packed with full size and travel sized goodies, including some of the brand’s best-sellers, the 12 Days advent calendar is ideal for beauty fans who want to try out a handful of its products before diving into full sizes. Plus, if not a gift for the buyer, it's perfect for an early Christmas present for loved ones.
The set, while costing £79 (meaning each product is essentially £6.50), includes five full-sized items that altogether equate to more than the entire box itself - totalling at £84.
That’s not even counting the deluxe sizes. Costing less than £80, it’s a good option for those not wanting to splash over £100 on an advent calendar, such as LookFantastic’s £105 The Beauty Advent Calendar and Beauty Bay’s £120 Advent Calendar 2025. The difference with these calendars is that rather than sticking to one brand, they have a handful of different products from different brands for example Philip Kingsley, The Inkey List, Neom, Iconic London, MAC and more.
Back to Liz Earle’s 12-day kit. One of the most luxurious and expensive products in the set is the brand’s Hydrating Cream Mask, which usually retails at £24. Ideal for the winter months, the cream works to deliver ‘intense moisture in just 10 minutes’ and claims to last up to 72 hours. The formula is gorgeously infused with hydration hero shea butter, as well as apricot kernel oil, and borage seed oil.
Liz Earle fans love this cream for dry and stressed skin, with one five star reviewer raving: “I love this mask! The cream feels lovely and it applies very easily. The smell is subtle and pleasant. After I rinsed it off with warm water my skin felt like silk and hydrated.”
Someone else remarked: “I love this. You don't need to use much and I use it after the exfoliating cream. I can see a difference after using it. My skin feels a little plumper. It feels rich and luxurious.”
The only qualm some people had was that they felt it didn’t quite last for 72 hours or vastly improve their skin. One said: “I’ve used Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish and been very impressed, but unfortunately after using the hydrating cream mask several times following the instructions to a T, it’s not made any difference. I was so disappointed, I had high hopes it would put nourishment back into my parchment skin.”
Also included in the beauty advent calendar is the brand’s beloved Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser 100ml, which usually costs £18. The award-winning formula works to deeply cleanse skin whilst removing makeup, and gently exfoliating to leave skin feeling smooth, resilient, and refreshed. Packed with rosemary, chamomile, cocoa butter, eucalyptus essential oil, it’s a hit with skincare buffs, with users returning to it time and time again.
One person shared their experience and said: “Cleanse and Polish has been my cleanser for over 40 years and I wouldn’t change. I was recommended it by my sister at a time when I had adult ache. Before long it had cleared and I’ve not used anything else since. It’s not greasy but removes my makeup and leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh.”
