The popular teen drama My Life with the Walter Boys has made a triumphant return with its second series, earning labels such as "trashy" and "insane" from fans in fresh reviews.

The eagerly anticipated second season of the Netflix drama, which kept fans waiting for two years, has already caused quite a stir on the streaming charts, despite only being released a few days ago.

My Life with the Walter Boys, based on Ali Novak's 2014 novel of the same name, centres around 15 year old Jackie Howard, brought to life by Nikki Rodriguez.

After losing her parents, Jackie relocates from New York to Colorado to live with her mother's best friend at her family ranch, home to the ten Walter children - a brood consisting of seven boys, one girl and two nephews.

In the latest series, Jackie embarks on a journey of self-discovery, wrestling with her aspirations for university and burgeoning feelings for two of the boys she now shares a home with, Alex (played by Ashby Gentry) and Cole (portrayed by Noah LaLonde).

She finds herself torn between Alex and Cole, all while pinning her hopes on securing a spot at Princeton, reports the Mirror.

Despite only being released on 28th August, many fans have already devoured the new 10 episodes of My Life with the Walter Boys. Although the show only holds a 42 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it seems to have struck a chord with Netflix viewers.

"Cringey and cliché, but binge-worthy!" one viewer commented, while another seemed to concur, stating: "Stupid but weirdly enjoyable, classic trashy drama."

One avid viewer exclaimed: "Anyone here a fan of My Life With The Walter Boys??? Season 2 was completely insane and I need to talk and dissect with someone!"

Another fan suggested, "This is an easy show to watch when you want something entertaining and not too intense," while another confessed they'd found themselves "invested" in the series despite initially not being a fan.

My Life with the Walter Boys, which has drawn comparisons to The Summer I Turned Pretty by some fans, has already been given the green light for a third season on Netflix, anticipated to premiere sometime in 2026.

Netflix has confirmed that filming for the upcoming series has already commenced and teased what's in store. Show creator Melanie Halsall has hinted that Jackie is poised to finally make a decision, following the massive cliffhanger at the conclusion of season two.

"It was a pretty big revelation at the end of season two, and we can't just ignore that," she disclosed to Tudum. "She also can't keep bouncing between two boys. How we tackle that will be a really interesting challenge, and I'm looking forward to that."

My Life with the Walter Boys is available to stream now on Netflix.
