I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! star Lord Charles Brocket has been charged with rape and sexual assault after appearing in court today following his arrest. The 73-year-old is accused of targeting the same woman in East Sussex between May 5 and August 10.

Brocket appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court today (Saturday, August 30) charged with two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault by penetration. Brocket, from Fulham, spoke in court to confirm his date of birth, name and address during the hearing where the allegations were detailed by prosecutor Aarya Mishra. He has denied all allegations made against him.

They relate to the same woman, who cannot be identified as she's an alleged victim of sexual offences.

According to reports, he was not asked to enter any pleas and was bailed ahead of a hearing at Isleworth Crown Court on September 26. District Judge Louisa Cieciora granted him bail.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson stated: "Brocket was arrested on Friday, 29 August, on suspicion of rape and charged on Saturday, 30 August.

"The rape charges relate to an incident involving a woman that took place in the early hours of Saturday, 10 August in Fulham. The matter was reported to the police the same day.

"The sexual assault by penetration charge relates to an incident on Monday, 5 May in Warbleton, East Sussex. The victim is being supported by specialist officers."

The peer finished fourth on I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2004. That year, he produced a biography called Call Me Charlie, which made the top 10 bestseller list.

He was known for once owning 42 Ferraris as part of his classic car collection in the 1980s and early 1990s.
