BBC Sport journalist Elizabeth Hudson has announced she has left the corporation after 25 years. Taking to X, she posted an emotional message announcing her exit. Alongside a picture of a BBC building, she wrote: "The sun shone on my last day with BBC Sport! It’s been a great journey (over 25 years), and a huge thanks to everyone who has played a part in it. Now the next chapter begins, and for more adventures!"
She was flooded with support for the future in the comments: "All the best for the next chapter & adventure. Whatever you do I know you’ll smash it," one wrote. "Great innings, Elizabeth. Very best wishes for the future. Enjoy," a second added. A third chimed in: "Thanks to you for your support, especially of Wheelchair RL in the last few years. Good luck with what’s next." Meanwhioe a fourth simply said: "Best wishes Elizabeth for the next phase!"
Over on Instagram another penned: "You were a huge asset to that BBC sport team, big shoes to fill. You deserve a well earned break and enjoy the next chapter whatever it might be x"
A sixth person shared: "Congratulations Elizabeth - on your many years of service to the BBC, and to what comes next. Breathe out and enjoy."
Elizabeth has been a Sports Broadcast Journalist for the BBC since December 2000. alongside that role she also worked as a planning producer for BBC Sportsnews from March 2019-March 2020 covering maternity leave.
During her time with the Beeb she made her mark as an expert on disability and Para-sports. She has covered five Paralympic Games and from Rio 2016 onwards she produced daily guides to the games for the BBC Sport website.
