Outlander: Blood of My Blood is captivating audiences after debuting earlier this month.
The show features a cast of relative newcomers in the main roles, including Jamie Roy as Brian Fraser, Harriet Slater as Ellen MacKenzie, Hermione Corfield as Julia Moriston, and Jeremy Irvine as Henry Beauchamp, reports the Daily Record.
Another key cast member is Seamus McLean Ross, who plays young Colum MacKenzie, the role originally played by Gary Lewis in Outlander.
However, what many admirers don't realise about Seamus is that he comes from an incredibly famous family.
Here's a look at the up-and-coming star's family and his surprising link to Outlander before he landed the role of the Machiavellian laird Colum.
Seamus happens to be the youngest offspring of Deacon Blue legends Ricky Ross and Lorraine McIntosh.
Whilst the celebrated duo are household names in the music world, Lorraine has also graced television screens, notably appearing in 2002 as Alice Henderson in Scottish drama River City.
Her acting portfolio extends to various comedic performances, featuring in Still Game's second live extravaganza, Bon Voyage, at Glasgow's OVO Hydro, plus a guest appearance in satirical police series Scot Squad.
Lorraine even made a brief cameo in Outlander's fifth season as Mrs Sylvie.
Now Seamus is treading the same path as his mother with his compelling performance as Colum in the spin-off production.
When asked about his future plans, he expressed his desire to explore music this year, something his famous parents Ricky and Lorraine could certainly advise him on.
Enthusiasts flocked to an Outlander discussion forum to share their thoughts on Seamus' casting - declaring him perfectly suited to the role.

The star attended the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London in preparation as part of his training, before taking on a couple of roles.
Prior to landing Outlander: Blood of My Blood, Seamus actually starred with his future onscreen father Peter Mullan, who plays Red Jacob in the Starz series, in the TV series Payback.
Additionally, in 2024, Seamus starred opposite Outlander alumnus Richard Rankin in his detective series Rebus.
The actor appeared in three episodes across the Scottish crime drama, based on the beloved Ian Rankin novels.
In a recent interview with Country and Townhouse, the actor revealed his preparation process for his role in Blood of My Blood, which included taking classes to gain a deeper understanding of Scottish history.
He shared: "I watched the original Outlander to get a feel for the show, and paid particular attention to Gary Lewis's scenes, who played the older Colum. I was also enrolled in an online Glasgow University programme on Clans and the wider Gaelic society to understand the world I was about to enter."
Beyond Outlander: Blood of my Blood, Seamus has secured a role in James McAvoy's California Schemin, a film based on Gavin Bain's autobiography Straight Outta Scotland. Seamus takes on the lead role alongside actor Samuel Bottomley.
Speaking about meeting his idol, he said: "Meeting James McAvoy was a blessing enough, never mind working with him, as he's been an idol of mine since childhood.
"James is a talented, passionate, intense and compassionate guy. He's got that rawness, and in a matter of seconds can convey what the heart of a scene, line, look or moment is about. He's got a laser focus when it comes to the work. I had the time of my life and I'll always be grateful for his belief in me, I just wanted to do him proud."
The film, California Schemin', is slated for its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2025.
