Virgin River enthusiasts have been taken aback after one of the Netflix series' stars revealed their connection to a Wednesday actor. This comes as Wednesday season two, part one arrived sparking wild fan theories alongside one grumble, reports the Mirror.

Ben Hollingsworth, who portrays Brady in Virgin River, penned a heartfelt tribute to colleague Luis Guzmán following their collaboration on a television programme years before securing their current Netflix roles.

The Virgin River favourite took to Instagram, sharing footage from their previous show with the caption: "Humility, kindness, patience, charity... you know, the big ones. Newcomer @loueyfromthehood everyone!".

"On @codeblack_cbs I learned a lot watching @mgh_8, Luis, @roblowe + a plethora of ridiculously talented actors. Biggest lesson? Listening. Not just hearing lines, but really being present-letting it change you.

"Sounds simple, but it's one of the hardest things to nail as an actor. Still working on it - ask my wife. Helps when you're opposite a legend though."

Hollingsworth continued: "Luis' little show "Wednesday" just dropped S2 on @Netflix-go binge!".

Guzmán and Hollingsworth had previously appeared alongside each other in the CBS medical drama Code Black, which aired for three series between 2015 and 2018.

The show followed medical personnel at an under-resourced emergency department in Los Angeles, drawing inspiration from a 2013 documentary.

Supporters flocked to comment beneath Hollingsworth's post, with several enquiring about the television series. Others lauded the programme as one said: "I loved code black so much. I wish they didn't cancel it! It really was so so good and the cast was."

A second remarked: "I saw Code Black and I like it. Cool show and stories."

A third noted: "Looking forward to watching. Will keep me occupied until Virgin River, Christmas Ring, and it looks SOOOO good!".

The footage in question featured Hollingsworth's junior doctor character Dr. Mario Savetti receiving a pep talk from Guzmán's senior nurse Jesse Salander following an angry altercation involving a patient.

The touching scene showed Jesse offering Mario guidance about how to conduct himself in the ER room given his troubled background.

Alongside Guzmán and Hollingsworth, the CBS medical drama featured an impressive ensemble including celebrated American actress Marcia Gay Harden, Hollywood heavyweight Rob Lowe, Homeland's Raza Jaffrey, and NYPD Blue favourite Bonnie Somerville.

Additional casting featured William Allen Young, Harry Ford, Boris Kodjoe, Jillian Murray, Noah Gray-Cabey, Emily Tyra, Emily Alyn Lind, and Moon Bloodgood.

Hollingsworth's footage emerges as Wednesday season two surged back to the summit of the Netflix chart, with approximately 50 million people viewing the programme during its first four days of release, according to Deadline.

This marked the second-highest weekly total ever for a Netflix series, placing it just behind Wednesday season one. The second series of Wednesday has been divided into two halves, with the concluding part set to arrive next month, wrapping up the convoluted story involving Willow Hill Asylum and the enigmatic Aunt Ophelia.

The fresh episodes have also offered more from the Addams family, with Guzmán returning to his role as Gomez Addams and starring alongside Jenna Ortega as the protagonist, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams.

The new series also boasts guest appearances from Billie Piper, Thandiwe Newton, Steven Buscemi, Christopher Lloyd, Haley Joel Osment, Frances O'Connor, Joanna Lumley, and Heather Matarazzo.

Wednesday season 2, part 1 is streaming on Netflix now and season 2, part 2 lands on September 3
