The series consists of 10 episodes and will be broadcast weekly on both sides of the Atlantic.

Starz has unveiled a trailer for episode four, which opens with a flashback to the 20th century showing Julia revealing to Henry that she's expecting their child.

The scene then shifts to present-day Scotland with Henry telling someone: "Do you have any idea how it feels to hope for something but dread it so very much at the same time?"

Julia is subsequently shown standing at the edge of Castle Leathers, caressing her pregnant belly, suggesting impending difficulties with her pregnancy.

Brian then approaches Julia with a request: "I need your help to deliver a message for me."

Julia replies: "And if I do this for you, you'll help me escape?"

Julia now finds herself the target of unwelcome advances from Lord Lovat (Tony Curran) after sacrificing herself in an attempt to protect her unborn child.

She made the devastating choice to share the laird's bed following Davina Porter's (Sara Vickers) revelation that she was permitted to keep her baby because he was Lord Lovat's son, despite being born out of wedlock.

Julia hopes her gambit will persuade Lord Lovat that the child belongs to him rather than Henry.

Meanwhile, tensions escalate at Castle Leoch as Ellen cautions her brother Colum (Séamus McLean Ross): "If I do marry Malcolm, my allegiance would be to them."

Additional conflict awaits Henry as Laird Isaac Grant (Brian McCardie) commands him to gather rent from the estate's tenants. "I can't get blood out of stone," warns Henry, as he's cautioned that he could meet the same fate as his predecessor if he fails to secure the funds.

The clip also introduces us to Julia and Ellen's first encounter, where the time traveller assists Brian in preserving his prohibited inter-clan love affair.

The trailer concludes with Julia asserting: "To the darkest moments, we must seize hope wherever we can find it."

Outlander: Blood of My Blood airs on Fridays on Starz in the USA and on Saturdays on MGM+ via Prime Video in the UK

Outlander season 8 will air on Starz and MGM+ via Prime Video in early 2026
