A former Metropolitan Police officer has been jailed for five and a half years in prison for the rape of a woman.

PC Tony Watts, attached to the North Area Command Unit, has been sentenced at Croydon Crown Court.

He had previously been found guilty and was remanded in custody on July 8 following aa trial at the same court.
