Brooklyn Beckham is convinced that his wife Nicola Peltz is being unfairly criticised following his parents and wider family being left off the guest list for his wedding vow renewal ceremony, and has hit back at critics. As well as rejecting the claims, close friends disclosed how his "heart breaks" witnessing the manner in which his spouse is being portrayed. According to a source, the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham belives the billionaire heiress is being "painted as a viper."
They disclosed: "It's so rooted in misogyny that all of the heat for his parents not being invited is on Nicola. Everyone seems to forget that Brooklyn is an adult man and fully capable of speaking out. Nicola would have respected all that he chose. It breaks Brooklyn's heart to see his wife being painted as this vixen and viper." The Lola actress has encountered allegations of isolating her husband from both his relatives and his mates. Numerous observers have pointed out that none of his extended family were present at the August ceremony, which was officiated by her father, businessman Nelson, and seemingly neither were his British friends were in attendance.
Brooklyn has yet to formally address the controversy. Nevertheless, this week on social media, he offered his clearest signal of his sentiments by thumbing up a comment from an Instagram user who had defended Nicola.
The supporter had written: "Why is it assumed that she made the decision to exclude them? ... If he really wanted his parents there, they would be."
According to fresh reports, the bitter feud between David and Victoria Beckham and their daughter-in-law had escalated so dramatically that the pair only learned about the vow renewal through news reports and photographs appearing online.
Nicola and Brooklyn's confidants revealed that his siblings, Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 20, were similarly snubbed following what they characterised as a series of social media digs.
One source claimed: "Brooklyn's brothers have been fanning the fire. They've openly made fun of and trolled Brooklyn in comments on social media."
Nevertheless, some have questioned why the entire Beckham family was not in attendance, including Harper, 14, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, who were locked out of the ceremony in America.
As one insider told the Mirror: "Why punish the whole family for what is essentially a fallout with just the mum and dad?"
Allies suggested it was especially painful to exclude Harper, who enjoys a tight relationship with Brooklyn and his grandparents.
One explained: "They are trying to make the best decisions for them in what are very unfortunate circumstances. Navigating family stuff is hard and it's ugly."
The couple still harbours hopes for mending the divide. The friend added: "The door is open. No one wants to see this kind of pain exist. There is always hope. At the end of the day, blood is thicker than water."
