Music icon Sir Rod Stewart has given his fans a treat following the recent release of his Ultimate Hits album on June 7. The 80-year-old father of seven took to his Instagram to plead with his fans to make their own version. He posted a clip of a game which sees his tracks hidden around his studio and fans are tasked with finding them. "I’ve put out my Ultimate Hits, now you can make yours! Visit 'Rod’s Studio' to help me find as many of my tracks as possible before time runs out to make and share your unique version Ultimate Hits. Play now with link in bio!," he penned alongside the clip.

The revelation was met with delight from his fans who flooded the comments with love heart emojis. "So cool!" one exclaimed. "Oh what a nostalgic mood melodies tune feeling 80s/90s," another penned. A third chimed in "love it!"

However one person didn't feel it was on brand for the singer writing: "Surely this is a bit complicated for your geriatric fanbase!"

Meanwhile another fan admitted they already had their own playlist without the help of the game. "Rod Stewart's music has been a part of my life since I was a teenager. I have at least one song for every stage of my life.

"I love them all and choose them according to my mood—sometimes slow and romantic, sometimes upbeat and danceable. My playlist is huge. I love the melodies and lyrics; my thoughts drift away to the sound of his husky, sexy, and captivating voice."

Rod's announcement comes just over a week after he was slammed for a distasteful tribute to the late rocker Ozzy Osbourne.

The singer was one of the first to pay tribute to the late Black Sabbath frontman when he died at the age of 76 on July 22. “Bye bye Ozzy,” he wrote. “Sleep well, my friend. I’ll see you up there – later rather than sooner.”

However he took the tribute one step further at one of his recent US show on August 1 where he paid tribute to several musicians from singers, rockstars and rappers.

During his Forever Young performance, a video was played showing the Black Sabbath singer taking selfies with Kurt Cobain, Freddie Mercury, George Michael and other artists who have died.

During Rod's concerts since Ozzy's death he has been dedicating his 1988 hit to him each night but this was the first time he featured the more bizarre AI generated tribute.
