Emmerdale icon Isabel Hodgins has announced she is pregnant with her first child, just months after marrying her husband Adam Whitehead. The 31-year-old Victoria Sugden star, who has been on the ITV soap since 2006, shared an adorable snap holding up her ultrasound scans as she looked into her husband’s eyes.
Wearing a white summer dress and cradling her bump, Isabel looked elegant as ever with gold hoop earrings, bangles and a matching necklace, letting her brunette hair fall in loose waves down her back. Her hubby Adam, meanwhile, wore a brown polo shirt and striped cotton trousers as he reached over to hold onto their ultrasound pictures.
Isabel wrote on Instagram: “First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes… Baby Whitehead. You can read about it in the @dailymirror tomorrow and @ok_mag next week,” adding the tag “#BabyOnTheWay.”
Her Emmerdale co-stars rushed to the comments section to show their full support, with Natalie Ann Jamieson – who played Amy Wyatt until she was killed off last year – writing: “Ahh congratulations guys! Lovely news.”
Bradley Johnson, who plays Vinny Dingle, echoed: “This is the best news! Massive congratulations guys!”
Tracy Metcalfe star Amy Walsh added: “Omgosh! I knew it! I had a feeling! So happy for you guys.”
Belle Dingle actress Eden Taylor Draper said: “She’s a mommy, mamacita,” while Aaron Dingle star Danny Miller chimed in: “So happy for you both!!”
Isabel confessed to OK! that it was actually her husband Adam who told her she was pregnant, with him explaining: “Isabel was overdue by a few days, so she took a test. But then, she just chucked it on the floor and it was upside down just lying there.”
Isabel said: “I didn’t want to look at it, as I felt it would make time go slower to stare. But Mr Impatient comes along to look at it and sees that it’s positive.”
She added: “But I thought, 'Surely we can't trust it because it's been upside down, so it might have impacted the result.' We rushed to Boots to buy three more, and they were all positive too, so we thought it must be right."
