Noel Gallagher had the full support of his fans as he broke down in tears on stage at Oasis’ latest Murrayfield gig in Edinburgh, Scotland. Noel was on-stage with his brother Liam, performing to a venue packed out with 70,000 fans, when fans noticed tears in the musician’s eyes.
At the time, Noel was performing the band’s 1995 B-side Talk Tonight. A video by TikTok user Andrew Douglas showed Noel up on the big screen with tears glinting in his eyes as he sang the lyrics, with the caption: “The Noel Gallagher tearing up while playing at Murrayfield Stadium.” Fans rushed to support Noel, with one commenting online: “He did have a tear. He looked humbled the whole night, but the crowd were amazing.”
Someone else agreed: “I just wanna give him a hug. He deserves all the love and appreciation.”
While a third social media user echoed: “Aww, he is tearing up, eh - wee soul.”
While some suggested it was simply the wind getting in Noel’s eyes, others were sure it’s the emotional lyrics of the Wonderwall B-side that had him choked up. They include “Sittin’ on my own, chewing’ on a bone / a thousand million miles from home” and “I wanna talk tonight / until the morning light / ‘bout how you saved my life.”
It comes after Liam launched a foul-mouthed tirade at Edinburgh City Council after safety documents branded Oasis fans “fat, drunk and rowdy”.
Liam fumed on-stage: “One second, where do I start here with everyone at the city council, the f***ing slags?! £1billion we’re bringing to this city over the next three days. £1billion.
“But you won’t see any of it because the Lord Provost will be splitting it between [his] posh ugly f***ing mates.” He went on to demand an apology from the council, saying Oasis are “still waiting for a f***ing apology” after the comments were made in October last year.
