The Summer I Turned Pretty enthusiasts were utterly charmed by the latest instalment of the Prime Video teen drama after the season premiere sparked outrage, with Conrad Fisher (portrayed by Christopher Briney) stealing hearts as he narrated his deep-seated affections for Belly Conklin (Lola Tung), confirming fan theories about the series' ultimate pairing, reports the Mirror.
Entitled Last Dance, the episode featured a gallant Conrad assisting Belly with wedding preparations while Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalegno) was tied up in New York during part of the July 4 weekend.
Audiences were treated to a poignant flashback of Belly and Conrad's last tender encounter before he broke off their relationship.
Conrad's narrative throughout the episode was laced with remorse over losing Belly and his efforts to support his younger brother, honouring a solemn vow made to his dying mother Susannah Fisher (Rachel Blanchard).
The question of which Fisher sibling Belly should end up with is now hotly contested among fans.
In an exclusive chat with Reach Screen Time, relationship expert Gemma Nice weighed in on Conrad's "undeniable" green flags that position him as Belly's perfect match.
Nice elaborated on how Conrad has stayed single for four years since his split with Belly, highlighting his commitment and loyalty.
Furthermore, Conrad "openly admits that she is the only person he has ever truly loved", while Jeremiah was unfaithful to Belly twice following a row over spring break.
Nice remarked: "Throughout the series, Conrad consistently shows that he listens to her and pays attention to details in ways Jeremiah does not.
"In series one, he chose an infinity necklace in silver, Belly's preferred colour, while Jeremiah overlooked this detail with her [engagement] ring."
In the second series, while chatting with Jeremiah in the shop, Conrad recalled her fondness for sour sweets over Swedish Fish, which Jeremiah had picked out for her, further evidencing his attentiveness.
"Most recently, in series three, after overhearing her crying, he baked her favourite cakes to comfort her. These moments highlight Conrad's unwavering thoughtfulness."
Nice continued: "Conrad puts the happiness of the love of his life first. In [a] recent episode, he even agreed to be his brother's best man despite how painful it was for him, because he knew it would make Belly happy after seeing her cry about no one wanting the wedding between her and Jeremiah to go ahead.
"This contrasts with Jeremiah, who agreed that Belly should not go to Paris, a lifelong dream of hers, because he selfishly wanted her to stay at home."
Viewers are left in suspense, eager to find out whether Conrad will conceal his true feelings from Belly or if the truth will ultimately be revealed.
