Hollywood star Alec Baldwin has been charging £100 per autograph at fan festivals across America after suffering a series of financial setbacks. The actor, 67, who once earned more than £200,000 an episode on hit sitcom 30 Rock, has hit the road for “meet and greet” sessions at comic book conventions.
Father-of-eight Alec, winner of three Golden Globes, made his first personal appearance at last month’s Comic Con in San Diego, California, where he charged for signed snaps. The star’s fortune, once said to be £52million, plummeted after the accidental shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, pictured inset, on the set of Western movie Rust in 2021.
While an involuntary manslaughter charge against him was dismissed, the star has reportedly spent tens of millions on his defence. The film made a meagre £20,076 at the box office and his reality show The Baldwins, with second wife Hilaria, 41, and their seven children, was axed after one season.
They have also been trying to sell their upmarket estate in New York’s Hamptons, reducing it from £21.5million to £8.2million, but have now taken it off the market.
