Princess Andre’s management have issued a statement after Katie Price hit out over her daughter’s upcoming reality TV show. The 18-year-old star is set to debut her own documentary series, The Princess Diaries, which is airing on ITV this weekend. Katie and Peter Andre’s daughter has been paving out her own career in showbiz over the past few years and her documentary series will give fans an insight into her blossoming career and life in the limelight.
The new series is set to debut on Sunday, August 10, however, rumours of a rift between Princess and her 47-year-old mum have emerged after it was revealed that her former glamour model mum will not appear in the series. Katie later spoke out, telling fans that she refuses to watch the TV series starring her daughter.
Despite not tuning in for her TV debut, the mum-of-five insisted there was no rift between her and her daughter. Instead, the doting mum hit out at Princess’ management company in an episode of The Katie Price Show which was released on Friday (August 8).
Katie shared her disappointment because she was allegedly “not allowed” to take part in the show – despite apparent offers to do so free of charge. In the lengthy rant on the podcast, Katie claimed: “I’ve always said, over my dead body would I ever want her to manage my kids because she doesn’t like me and Pete and we don’t talk.
“I am very, very, very upset that Princess has signed with them. Now she’s managing Princess and Junior, out of my control, I want the best for Junior and Princess, always, and I will never get in the way of it.
“But what hurts my feelings – and it does upset me – is when your kids grow up, you go to their assemblies, you got to their Christmas things, you go to their awards, you go to their football matches of gymnastics, you’re involved in everything they do.
“And I know that what my career has been, Princess is taking that same path – trying to do the same as what I’ve done – which I absolutely love and adore of Princess, but I had not been allowed to go on any photoshoot, no signings or Superdrug openings or anything like that. Why? Because I’m not allowed and I’m not welcome.”
Now, Princess’ management company, The CAN Group, have responded when contacted by The Mirror. They told the outlet: “As a company, our duty of care to our clients is paramount.
“We would never advise a client on their personal life unless asked and we have never stopped anyone seeing their families.” Princess has since addressed the rumours herself in an interview with Daily Mail.
She told the outlet that any fallout from Katie’s outburst at not being involved in her TV debut will be dealt with behind closed doors. The teenager insisted: “It’s my show, it’s not based on my parents, it’s focused on me. To be honest, there’s no rift between me and either of my parents.”
Viewers will see Princess celebrate turning 18 on her show and although Katie wasn’t there for the birthday bash thrown by her dad Peter Andre, 52, the teen stands firm that her mother was never banned from attending.
She went on: “What I would usually do, as I’ve done my whole life, would be to spend the morning with one parent and the evening with the other. As it happened, mum ended up being away, and dad had already decided to throw me a last-minute birthday party, which we filmed for the show.
“But anyhow, it would be weird if both parents were in the same room, as I’m sure a lot of people out there with divorced parents can relate to.”
