Linda Robson has revealed she's "worried" about Loose Women's future as ITV prepares to implement sweeping cost-cutting measures across its daytime programming. The broadcaster announced in May that the beloved panel show would face the axe for six months of the year as executives pursue drastic reductions to save millions of pounds.

Birds Of A Feather actress Linda, who has graced the  TV programme for two decades, admits the uncertainty surrounding its fate has left her "praying" it won't face cancellation altogether. "We are all rallying together," she declared.

Reports suggest that when the budget restrictions take effect in January, the show will no longer welcome A-list celebrities to the studio, whilst their live studio audience will become a relic of the past, reports the Mirror

Mounting concerns indicate the ITV mainstay could potentially be axed entirely within 12 months.

"It will be very sad if we can't have guests," lamented the 67 year old Linda.

ITV is wielding the axe across its flagship daytime offerings including Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, Loose Women and This Morning, slashing job numbers by half and dramatically reducing airtime for several programmes.

The cutbacks at ITV Studios, which produces all four shows, will see over 220 of the 440 staff members lose their positions.

"It's a shame people are losing their jobs," Linda continued. "We're all like a family. We've been together through births, marriages, deaths. It's been very hard. Everyone's worried about the show. We're just trying to stay positive and hope for the best. But hopefully it's not going be as bad as it already is."

The programme boasts a dynamic panel of hosts who tackle the day's burning questions, major concerns, and news items. It has seen high-profile guests such as supermodel Naomi Campbell and songstress Janet Jackson grace its stage.

Since its inception in 1999, the show has been recorded before a live audience, though recent whispers hint at this being axed next year, a change ITV has yet to confirm.

Loose Women's own Nadia Sawalha has voiced concerns over job security, revealing the precarious nature of their roles: "What people don't realise at Loose Women is that we're self-employed," she disclosed.

"I am self-employed. Every contract is a new contract. I could be let go tomorrow. I could be let go in five years. You don't know because we're not employees."

Reflecting on her tenure with the show, renowned for its spirited discussions on pressing issues and current events, Linda Robson shared the secret to her success on the panel.

"I've got a loose mouth," she quipped at the National Reality TV Awards in London, adding, "I'm always getting told not to swear in my ear. They try and stop me from doing it. I'm under Baggy Mouth in the group chat."

Loose Women airs on weekdays on ITV1 at 12.30pm
