Masked raiders battered their way into I'm A Celebrity star Harry Redknapp's £5million Dorset mansion using sledgehammers and made off with wife Sandra's jewellery in a shocking break-in. The former Premier League manager and spouse Sandra, both 78, were absent when the gang forced entry to their lavish home near Sandbanks, one of the world's most expensive postcodes per square foot. It is suspected that the criminals may have studied the property through online estate advertisements, with concerns they gathered layout information from a Rightmove listing, a method potentially employed for other break-ins in the vicinity.
A source revealed to The Sun: "It was clearly organised. The raiders must have known the house was empty." The disguised thieves reportedly made off with Sandra's jewellery collection and other high-end belongings. The source continued: "The criminals would only have to keep watch on the property and break in once the coast was clear, knowing the full layout of the house in advance", reports the Daily Star.
A source informed The Sun that the gang employed lump hammers and a sledgehammer to batter down the front entrance and gain access to their residence. They were captured on security footage searching through the property, understood to be on the market whilst the couple's new residence is being finished close by.
The source stated: "The raiders were all masked up. They were caught on CCTV cameras breaking in and trying to ransack the property looking for valuables. It was clearly organised and they must have known the house was empty at the time."
A family friend revealed that Harry had been at an event that evening, while Sandra was fortunately in London.
A spokesperson for Harry informed The Sun: "Harry doesn't want to make a fuss. There was no one in the house at the time and we don't want to comment on what was taken. It's a matter for the police."
Dorset Police stated: "We received a report of a burglary at an address in Poole. Officers attended and carried out enquiries at the property. An investigation is underway into the incident. No arrests have been made at this time."
Harry, who triumphed in I'm A Celeb in 2018, is rumoured to be returning to the jungle for the All Stars edition this autumn.
