Hulk Hogan's death has rocked the world as many have expressed their heartbreak over the WWE legend's passing. First responders were called to Hogan's home in Clearwater, Florida, on Thursday morning after receiving a call about a "cardiac arrest". He was later pronounced dead at Morton Plant Hospital.

Tributes have begun pouring in from those who knew the professional wrestler personally and others who admired his work. Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone admitted his heart was "broken" as he paid tribute to the late star in an emotional Instagram post.

He penned: "I have the pleasure of meeting this brilliant personality and showman when he was 26 years old. He was absolutely wonderful and his amazing skill made Rocky three incredibly special. My heart breaks. I think that he’s gone…"

Stallone's touching words were accompanied by an image of the two in Rocky III, released in 1982. Piers Morgan was also lucky enough to come face to face with Hogan, posting a snap of him interviewing the star on X.

Morgan penned: "RIP Hulk Hogan - the most iconic wrestler in history, a wonderful character, and in person, a far gentler, charming, intelligent man far removed from his snarling beast ring (and Rocky movie!) persona. Sad news."

Retired wrestler Ric Flair also remembered his friend, describing their close bond since first breaking into the industry together.

In a post on Instagram, he shared: "I am absolutely shocked to hear about the passing of my close friend @hulkhogan! Hulk has been by my side since we started in the wrestling business. An incredible athlete, talent, friend, and father! Our friendship has meant the world to me. He was always there for me even when I didn’t ask for him to be.

"He was one of the first to visit me when I was in the hospital with a 2% chance of living, and he prayed by my bedside. Hulk also lent me money when reid was sick. Hulkster, no one will ever compare to you! Rest in peace my friend!"

Donald Trump Jr also posted to X, "R.I.P to a legend" alongside a selfie of himself with the wrestling star.

Hollywood actress Brooke Shields shared a playful snap of herself wrestling with Hogan, adding the caption: "Rest easy, Hulk. This moment and his entire guest episode on ‘Suddenly Susan’ was a true highlight. Sending love to all of his loved ones today."

Former wrestler John Layfield posted on X: "One of the reasons I got into wrestling. Hulk was always so nice to me and was the one celebrity that wanted to see all the kids I brought over from Bermuda. RIP legend. There will never be another. Hulkamania never dies."

US Vice-President JD Vance also sent his condolences, writing: "Hulk Hogan was a great American icon. One of the first people I ever truly admired as a kid. The last time I saw him we promised we’d get beers together next time we saw each other. The next time will have to be on the other side, my friend! Rest in peace."
