A plane in eastern Russia has gone missing with 46 people, including two children on board. The aircraft has reportedly lost contact, Russian state media reports, with 40 passengers and 6 crew members on board. "An An-24 aircraft of the Angara airline failed to contact the control point several kilometers from the Tynda airport," an agency source said.
Vasily Orlov, Governor of the Amur Region, where the plane lost contact, said the aircraft was flying from Blagoveshchensk to Tynda, yet “disappeared from radar today”. “All necessary forces and means have been deployed to search for the plane," the governor wrote on his Telegram channel. The Ministry of Emergency Situations has confirmed the disappearance and sent a team of rescuers to search for it.
