Every animal has its own unique set of quirks - and that's what makes them so loveable.
But it seems many share common interests too, especially when it comes to their preferences around 'toys' and objects they're interested in exploring.
After discovering their cat is obsessed with concrete slabs, owners across TikTok has been visiting their local hardware stores to fulfils their feline's dreams.
In a TikTok video, owner Eden Buchert, who is known as @edenbphoto on social media, has urged cat owners to buy a slab and watch their cat 'thank them for it'.
In his video, he says: "This is your sign to buy your cat a slab of concrete."
Later in his video, he shows his black and white cat rolling all over it, prompting one social media user to comment: "Can confirm that my cats love concrete."
Another asked: "Was your cat a former street cat? Or does every cat like it for some reason?"
While a third user said: "I have a brick in my room. I don't know how it got here but I use it to block my balcony doors from opening and my cat loves it. He sleeps on it all the time."
While experts remain somewhat puzzled by the behaviour, they see no concerns with it and compared it to a cat's love for scratching posts.
Bruce Kornreich, a veterinary cardiologist and director of the Feline Health Center at Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, told Popular Science, said: "As is typical with cats, only they know [why they love concerete].
"Some cats like wood with bark on it, while some cats like cardboard. Cats like them upright, other cats like them horizontal, and some cats want horizontal with carpeting on it.
"We believe that cats like scratching posts because they can partake in a natural behaviour. We believe that in many cases, they’re scratching to mark territory. So they may scratch on these things or rub their pheromones on them to mark them as their own."
Providing a possible solution linked to their love for concrete slabs, he added: "They may be saying, 'Hey, this is a new thing. It’s kind of porous. I can put my scent on it. I can sit on top of it. I can scratch my nails on it. It also provides me with a nice little scratch on my back.' So it’s certainly possible that these things are involved in why a cat would be attracted to it."
Commenting on the TikTok video, one user said: "Please do not let my cat see this he will ask me for one."
While another added: "Guys, my cat does not want the concrete slab. Kinda upset."
A final user joked: "Hey, so this is very dangerous. They could start building complex structures and next thing you know is he becomes a construction worker."
