Shocking footage has emerged showing a gang of knife-wielding youths in Edinburgh threatening to stab bystanders in a brazen broad daylight confrontation. The alarming scene unfolded at St Patrick Square's bus stop on Saturday, July 12, where one masked youth was filmed squaring up to an older man.
As the tension escalated, the young aggressor brandished what seemed to be a blade, while taunting "What you saying mate? Have you got a f*****g problem?" Despite his menacing stance, one man bravely pushed him away, prompting the youth to retort: "I'll stab both of you."
A second member of the gang, donning a black cap and clutching a balaclava, rushed forward in an attempt to snatch the filming woman's phone. He too appeared to reach for something in his pocket but retreated as the defiant group stood their ground, warning they would call the police.
Onlookers at the bustling Southside street bus stop witnessed the standoff, with one person from the threatened group retaliating by kicking out at one of the youths and shouting "f**k off." The knife-brandishing youth then waved the weapon menacingly before both assailants walked away. Two other individuals, seemingly part of the gang, also dispersed upon realising the incident was being recorded, reports Edinburgh Live.
Police Scotland was contacted for a statement.
