During a recent appearance on the Like Minded Friends podcast with Tom Allen and Suzi Ruffell, Helen George, who plays Trixie Franklin on Call the Midwife, revealed she was left “furious” after the show’s museum “nicked” something from the set.
She explained, “There’s a museum which has the wedding dresses and our tea collection, which we’re furious about because... politics, right?”
Helen added, “We had this gorgeous tea set that was in the dining room. They nicked it for the Museum of Nonnatus House, from our set of Nonnatus. So they’ve taken it. We’re down about three teaspoons, a load of cups, and China.”
She also claimed that members of the show’s team have tried to “steal it back,” but their efforts were thwarted because the props were “glued down.”
Helen George’s acting career began on stage with her role in The Woman in White. She also showcased her singing talents as a backing vocalist for Elton John during one of his tours.
Beyond acting and singing, Helen appeared on Strictly Come Dancingin 2015, where she was partnered with Aljaž Škorjanec. After impressing the judges in the early weeks, the pair were voted off in week 11, finishing in sixth place.
