Princess Charlotte left royal onlookers in awe with her sweet appearance at Wimbledon at the weekend, as many said that she was the “double” of her mother, Princess Kate. The Prince and Princess of Wales' daughter proudly sat alongside her parents and elder brother, Prince George, at the men’s final over the weekend.
The 10-year-old royal was the mirror image of her mother as she followed in her fashionable footsteps. Despite not yet being a teenager, Charlotte has already set the bar high as her sweet custom look was by one of Kate’s favourite designers.
The piece was created by Sarah Burton, the former creative director of Alexander McQueen, who famously designed Princess Kate’s iconic wedding gown.
Charlotte’s effortlessly elegant dress was a bespoke creation in a soft cream colour, featuring delicate frill detailing and subtle black piping.
Burton, who formerly led Alexander McQueen, has long been celebrated for her work with the Royal Family.
Now at Givenchy, she recently designed the breathtaking white gown worn by the Princess of Wales at the State Banquet just last week.
Royal fans flocked to social media to share their admiration for Charlotte’s look. One Instagram user wrote: “Sarah Burton really is outdoing herself! The banquet gown and this dress—stunning! They’re both incredibly impeccable pieces.”
Another commented, “Charlotte always looks so stunning, just like her mother. She’s the double of Kate.”
Just like Kate, 43, Charlotte has mastered the mix of high-end and high-street, wearing an affordable £65 Pandora bracelet with her elegant outfit.
A third user noted: “Love the Pandora bracelet and the Sarah Burton dress. A very special outfit for a girl who clearly loves tennis!”
This marks at least the fourth time Charlotte has worn a design by Sarah Burton, having chosen her creations for Trooping the Colour over the past three years.
Burton remains a favourite of Princess Kate thanks to her timeless designs and impeccable attention to detail.
As the former creative lead at Alexander McQueen, she famously created Kate’s 2011 wedding dress, cementing a long-standing fashion relationship. Since then, Kate has repeatedly turned to Burton for major royal moments, from state banquets to red-carpet engagements.
Her aesthetic perfectly blends regal sophistication with modern femininity, making her a go-to name for the Princess.
