Brits with peanut allergies have been warned off Neosis Schokolade Love of Dubai, a popular chocolate brand, due to significant health risks.

The Food Standards Agency has flagged an urgent alert that these chocolates contain undeclared peanuts, posing a potential danger to allergy sufferers. The agency has advised consumers to throw out the product and reach out to their local Trading Standards in Great Britain or Environmental Health Officers in Northern Ireland for further guidance.

Stores are pulling the affected 95g bars from shelves, instigating a recall. Black Sea Trading Ltd, the distributor of these chocolates, has not responded to contact attempts, prompting the Food Standards Agency to enforce critical food safety measures upon the retailers vending these chocolates. The statement comes only weeks after a food standards warning was issued about the popular children's ice cream Wall's Mini Milk Vanilla Strawberry & Chocolate lollies.

The Food Standards Agency's warning statement made it clear: "We are notifying consumers and food business who have purchased Neosis Schokolade Love of Dubai chocolate that this product contains peanut, which is not mentioned on the label, making it a possible health risk to anyone with an allergy to peanuts."

It added: "Food businesses selling Neosis Schokolade Love of Dubai chocolate in the UK, manufactured by NEOSIS, Gida ve Unlu Mam Ltd, are advised to immediately stop sales and to undertake product withdrawals, and where there have been retail sales, to undertake product recalls. This is because the product presents a serious risk to anyone with an allergy to peanuts.", reports the Mirror.

"Businesses have been supplied these products by a company called Black Sea Trading Ltd, who have so far been uncontactable. As a result, food safety action is required by the food businesses selling these products... This product contains peanuts making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts."

Neosis Schokolade Love of Dubai chocolate can be bought in most large supermarkets. The Food Standards Agency continued: "We are working closely with relevant enforcement authorities to progress investigations and ensure affected products are withdrawn from the market and, where sold at retail, recalled. We are informing allergy organisations of the issue.

"Don't buy this product, and if you have bought it, don't eat it, especially if you have a peanut allergy. Dispose of the product at home and get in touch with your local Trading Standards in Great Britain or Environmental Health Officers in Northern Ireland, to let them know where you purchased it."

Earlier this month, a comparable action was taken when the Classic Scotch Egg and Wall's Two Classic Scotch Eggs were withdrawn from sale due to concerns over potential salmonella contamination.
