Since quitting royal life in 2020, Prince Harry has not been shy when it comes to revealing intimate details about his royal relatives and his relationships with them, causing rifts between himself and his brother Prince William, and his father King Charles. However, over the last few years, Harry, 43, has expressed on numerous occasions just how much he wants to reconcile with his family, and his wish may now come true.
It was reported yesterday that a meeting had taken place last week between Tobyn Andreae, the King's communications secretary, and two members of staff from Harry and Meghan Markle’s team. This was Meredith Maines, the couple’s chief communications officer and head of their household in Montecito, California, and Liam Maguire, who runs the Sussexes' PR team in the UK.
The meeting, which took place last week, is believed to be a first step in the reconciliation process.
As revealed by the Mail on Sunday, the meeting was held at the London private members' club Royal Over-Seas League, where the three were spotted sat on a terrace overlooking Green Park in London.
Details of the meeting have not been revealed, but it is believed both Harry and the King gave permission for talks to be held.
While this may be a promising sign when it comes to ending the royal rift, it is believed Harry would have to accept a brutal ultimatum if it comes to reconciliation, and that is to stop launching public attacks at the Royal Family.
However, this could be hard for Harry, as this may be the only way he can continue his partnership with Netflix, especially when his wife Meghan Markle’s show “With Love, Meghan” runs its course.
Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, royal correspondent at 5 News Simon Vigar said that Netflix are likely to one day want Harry to reveal never-before-heard information about the royals which he hasn’t revealed before.
This is because Harry hinted in his memoir Spare in 2023 that there is more information and things that have happened in his life that haven’t yet come to light.
Mr Vigar said: “If the Netflix deal is continuing, they're going to say, ‘look, so much for behind the scenes at Polo and flower sprinkles, we actually want to know what else there is.’”
It is not known if Harry or the King have spoken since their aides met last week.
