A huge manhunt has been launched after a man was seriously injured by a crossbow in what is thought to be a targeted attack. Police rushed to Downway Lane in St Helens at around 10pm on Sunday (July 13) after receiving reports that a man in his 50s had been assaulted.
The victim was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition. Police believe the injuries were caused by a crossbow. The suspects, who are believed to have fled the scene towards Fleet Lane, have been described as five men, all wearing dark clothing and face coverings.
