A Ryanair flight was met by chaos when it landed on and police came on board.
The aircraft, which had departed from Palma De Mallorca on July 9, was scheduled to touchdown in Edinburgh at 6.10pm but was delayed, landing at 7pm instead. After arrival, the passengers were told to stay seated while a 69-year-old man was arrested.
Ran by crew members from Lauda Europe, a subsidiary of Ryanair based in Malta, police were called after the elderly man's alleged disruptive behaviour during the flight, Daily Record reports. A Ryanair spokesperson, said: "The crew of this Lauda flight from Palma de Mallorca to Edinburgh (9 July) called ahead for police assistance after a passenger became disruptive onboard"
"The aircraft was met by local police upon arrival at Edinburgh Airport and this passenger was removed."
The airline added: "Ryanair has a strict zero tolerance policy towards passenger misconduct and will continue to take decisive action to combat unruly passenger behaviour, ensuring that all passengers and crew travel in a safe and respectful environment, without unnecessary disruption. This is a matter for local police."
Police Scotland also provided a statement on Friday: "Around 7pm on Wednesday, 9 July 2025 we received a report of a disruptive passenger on a flight from Palma to Edinburgh.
"Officers attended upon landing in Edinburgh Airport and a 69-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with aviation offences. A report has been made to the Procurator Fiscal."
