The WPC faced a brutal assault while intervening in a scuffle between two men in Birmingham's Handsworth Wood over the weekend. Her partner is seen restraining one individual in a pink shirt, but as she nears the duo fighting, she receives a forceful punch to the face.
Reeling from the impact, the injured officer clutches her head as the grey-haired brute resumes his altercation with the other man.
A bystander is heard exclaiming: "What the f**k. Oh my God, she's just been hit. No way, no way. Oh my God."
The onlooker questions the absence of male backup, remarking, "They are going to have to call back up. It's women, that's not right, why have they not sent men?".
Undeterred, the courageous WPC confronts her attacker, a man in black with a green cap. Subsequently, another video shows both policewomen subduing the suspects, with one calling for reinforcements.
A woman in pink approaches and delivers a stomp to the head of the man who struck the officer, resulting in a chilling thud as his head collides with the pavement. The footage, shared by Birmz Is Grime, has gone viral on social media, sparking comments such as "All blokes standing about" and calls for bystanders to assist rather than just record the incident.
One individual commented: "I'm so glad he got his karma in the end" while another remarked: "Taste of vigilante justice at the end there."
A fifth person lamented, "and not one man who was watching came to these ladies defence" and yet another suggested: "A pay rise for these two."
West Midlands Police reported that the altercation resulted in hospitalisation for one officer.
The force's spokesperson stated: "While responding to disorder on Heathfield Road, Lozells, shortly after 1.30pm on Sunday (6 July), two of our officers were assaulted."
They added, "The officers were hurt and one was taken to hospital but thankfully her injuries are not life changing."
Further details emerged as they said, "A police car was also damaged during the incident."
Continuing, they revealed, "The officers detained two men at the scene, and both were arrested."
Elaborating on the arrests, the spokesperson disclosed, "One, aged 27, is being questioned on suspicion of assault, assaulting a police officer, and criminal damage."
Additionally, they noted, "The other man, aged 51, is being questioned on suspicion of assaulting a police officer."
Concluding their statement, West Midlands Police affirmed, "We do not tolerate violence against our officers and our investigation is continuing."
