A British passenger has been banned from flying with Jet2 for life after causing chaos on board. The flight from Birmingham to Ibiza descended into chaos when the Brit downed a bottle of vodka before throwing clothes at fellow passengers and confronting cabin crew members.
The man, wearing a green matching outfit, became increasingly disruptive after downing the duty-free Ciroc bottle whilst the aircraft remained grounded. His behaviour formed part of wider disorder on what one witness has described as "the flight from hell", with multiple incidents occurring throughout the journey, according to the Daily Mail. During the flight, the passenger refused to remain seated despite severe turbulence, walking through the aisles and attempting to obtain drinks from other travellers.
When instructed by cabin crew to return to his seat, he questioned their authority.
The situation escalated further as the aircraft attempted to land. The disruptive passenger continued standing and moving about the cabin, ignoring repeated requests from both crew and passengers to sit down.
The pilot was forced to intervene via the aircraft's public address system, instructing "the guy standing up" to take his seat.
Physical altercations broke out between passengers, with at least one person being slapped. Multiple travellers became ill, vomiting in the aisles and contaminating other passengers' belongings.
According to one witness, CJ Edwards, who documented the incident on TikTok, "People were drinking and doing all sorts, and what I want to say is that it wasn't just him. There were a lot of things going on. There was a fight on the plane, someone got slapped, someone was sick in the aisles."
He described watching the man consume the vodka, stating: "I'm not lying, he's guzzled it down in about 10 seconds."
A Jet2 spokesperson confirmed: "The customer has been banned for life.
"As a family-friendly airline, we take a zero-tolerance approach to disruptive passenger behaviour."
