A brand new NATO aircraft appears to have vanished as it approached Russian airspace on what is believed to have been its first operational flight.

The NATO RQ-4D Phoenix MAGMA10 reportedly sent an emergency "squawk" code of 7600 while over the Black Sea, indicating a potential loss of comms.

The aircraft is a newly rolled out unmanned flight believed to be kitted out with cutting edge technology that was only launched for the first time earlier this month.
