A company director has been accused of throttling his neighbour amidst a heated argument concerning their shared driveway, which also resulted in damage to a luxury Jaguar, according to court reports. Trevor Hollisey, 72, allegedly seized neighbour Neil Ford by the throat for 'ten to 15 seconds' and is said to have attacked his wife, Michelle.
Mr Hollisey, who operates a bathroom and kitchen installation business, reportedly inflicted £1,363 worth of damage to Mr Ford's Jaguar F-PACE during the altercation last December. He is facing two counts of assault and one count of criminal damage. His wife, Jennifer Hollisey, 79, is also charged with two counts of assault against the same neighbours and is accused of causing £3.99 worth of damage to her neighbour's phone during the incident.
The couple both entered not guilty pleas to the charges at Norwich Magistrates' Court last week. Allegations were made in court that there was a "very messy history" tied to the dispute over the driveway, which is shared with at least three other properties in Bressingham, Norfolk. Prosecutor Katherine Newson told the court that the alleged victims and the defendants had a falling out over "dispute over access to their driveway".
Defence lawyer Declan Gallagher described the situation as a "confrontation" stemming from a "long-term dispute", highlighting the complex background of the case. During discussions to set a trial date, Mr Hollisey interrupted proceedings, informing the magistrates of his multiple holiday plans for this year and the next.
The trial has been scheduled for a two-day hearing at Ipswich Magistrates' Court between Marc. The couple, from High Road, Bressingham, were granted conditional bail and instructed to avoid any contact with their neighbours.
