Prince William and the Duchess of Edinburgh are undertaking a rare joint engagement as they attend the Royal Cornwall Show together this afternoon. The royal duo are attending the show to celebrate Cornish heritage through agriculture, food, and entertainment.
The event has been running for over 200 years and is organised by the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association (RCAA). It aims to promote agriculture and related industries. William, who is the Duke of Cornwall, is a patron of the RCAA, while his aunt Sophie is the RCAA's vice president and a patron of the Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations.
Members of the public were delighted by the pair's attendance on Friday, with hundreds queuing to catch a glimpse of the royal arrivals. Sophie stopped to greet the well-wishers and even stopped to pose for selfies with them.
It's not unusual for royals to attend the annual show, with the King and Queen paying a visit in 2022 - the first since the coronavirus pandemic - and Sophie previously visited in 2014.
William and Sophie have teamed up on royal engagements before, as they attended the screening of Rhino Man at Battersea Power Station together in 2023.
